Betty C. Horn of Cheshire, CT passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA. Born November 13, 1943 in Sedan, Kansas she was the daughter of Audrey Gammon (Prentice, Beazer) and Otis Beazer. Betty was especially fond of her maternal grandparents Paul and Lily Prentice.

 

Betty was Professor of Accounting at Southern Connecticut State University until her retirement in 2007. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma City University and Ph.D. from Georgia State University. She was a licensed CPA and had a career in public accounting prior to earning her Ph.D.

 

She loved playing bridge and cherished the friendships within her bridge group, enjoyed the performing arts, and was an avid reader.

 

Betty is predeceased by her parents and her sister Bonnie Tucker. She is survived by her brothers Bob Beazer of Little Rock, AR and John Gammon of Blue Lake, CA; sons Bret (Jeanie) of Hanover, PA, Gregory of Frederick, MD, and Michael (Jennifer) of Saratoga Springs, NY; and grandchildren James, Alex, Hailey, Ben, Lily, Owen, Ella and Franklin.

 

A memorial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. A time to share memories with the family will begin at 10:00 AM.
