Clarence A. Wingert, Jr., 90, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Hanover Hospital.

Born May 12, 1926 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence A. Wingert, Sr. and Ruth G. (Rupert) Wingert. He was the loving husband of Miriam W. (Heffley) Wingert with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

He was a 1944 graduate of Chambersburg High School.

Clarence was an active member of the King Street United Brethren Church of Chambersburg. Upon moving to Hanover in 1952, he became an active member of the Hanover Church of the Brethren.

Mr. Wingert was a train order operator for Western Maryland Railway for 43 years until his retirement in June of 1988.

In addition to his wife Miriam, Clarence is survived by his children; Kenneth D. Wingert and his wife Lisa of York, PA, Donna R. Schultz and her husband Paul of Thailand, Joann M. Wingert and her husband Stuart Leask of Mechanicsburg, PA, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and his sister, Janet L. (Wingert) Yetter of Sun City West, AZ. Clarence is preceded in death by his first wife, Hulda M. (Showman) Wingert who died suddenly on January 29, 1957.

A funeral service to remember Clarence’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Hanover Church of the Brethren, 601 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA with his pastor, the Rev. Geraldine Godfrey officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM, Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA and from 10-11 AM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the church.
