Claudine F. (Chub) Baker, 102, of Hanover, PA entered peacefully into God’s care,

Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Brethren Home, New Oxford, PA.

Born March 9, 1915 in McSherrystown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Claude F.

and Grace (Lawrence) Wagaman. She was the loving wife of the late Walter C. Baker

for fifty-six years.

Chub graduated from Central High School, McSherrystown, PA in 1933. She was the

co-owner of Baker’s Dress Shop on Broadway in Hanover, PA from 1947 until 1984.

Chub is survived by her children, Anne L.(Beezy Baker) Zeigler and husband Glenn,

Robin C. (Baker) Cornette and husband Richard and Robert C. Baker and wife Cherie;

six grandchildren, Benjamin Baker, Brittany Cornette, Laura Cornette, Scott Zeigler,

Shawn Zeigler and Jennifer Richard; four great-grandchildren, Carley Richard, Taylan

Zeigler, Samuel Zeigler and Aaron Zeigler. She was preceded in death by her

grandson Jason Baker and her siblings, Jeanne Albright, Edith Rice, Donald Wagaman,

Raymond Wagaman, Louise Wentz, Thomas Wagaman, Francis Wagaman and Robert

Wagaman.

Chub deeply loved her family and friends and had a wonderful, kind soul. She

enjoyed gardening, music, cooking, and traveling and had a passion for fashion and

interior design. She had a zany sense of humor and enjoyed showing it at every

opportunity to brighten the lives of those around her. When times were difficult, she

always managed to display a quiet strength. Never one to complain, she inevitably

looked to the future rather than the past.

Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate and remember Chub's life will

be held 10:00 AM, Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269

Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. A private burial ceremony for the family will follow in

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Cemetery.
