Dale E. Schachle, Sr.

Dale E. Schachle, Sr, 65, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. 

Born February 3, 1953 in York, PA, he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Viola M. E. (Shelton) Schachle.  Dale was the loving husband of Kathy S. (Myers) Schachle with whom he shared 6 years of marriage.

Dale was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served his country proudly during the Vietnam War.  He was an Auto Body technician for Millers Body Shop for over 50 years.

Mr. Schachle was a member of the Harold H. Bair Post 14 American Legion, Hanover, PA as well as the A.M.V.E.T.S. Post 22, Hanover, PA.  He enjoyed reading, doing cross word puzzles, watching Westerns and was an avid NASCAR fan.

In addition to his loving wife, Kathy, Dale is survived by his children, Dale E. Schachle, Jr., Matthew Schachle, Michael Schachle, Krystal Schachle, step children, Christina DeJesus, and Jarid Boyer, grandchildren, Heaven, Destiny, Kaly, Starlet, Skyler, Michael, Jr., Crimson, Cayden, Landon, Madison, Breanna, Bella, and Bryden, and brothers, Bruce Schachle and Leo Schachle.

A Viewing will be held from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, February 20, 2017 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  A graveside service will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, February 21, 2017 at Great Conewago Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Hunterstown, PA with Rev. Timothy George officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s name to the American Cancer Society, 923 N. Colonial Avenue, York, PA 17403.
