David Jonathan “DJ” Hart, 48, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Hanover Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 3, 1969 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of Dr. Jon A. Hart and the late Terry (Hamrock) Hart. He was the step-son of Janice Schmoldt-Hart. DJ was the loving husband of Kristin A. (Johnson) Hart with whom he would have celebrated 20 years of marriage this November 15th.
DJ was a 1987 graduate of South Western High School where he excelled in academics and was captain of the Football Team, Wrestling Team and Track Team. He graduated From Johns Hopkins in 1991 where he played football and received his Jurists Doctorate in 1995 from the University of Pittsburgh Law School.
Mr. Hart was a partner in the law firm of Guthrie, Nonemaker, Yingst and Hart where he practiced since 1996 in York, Adams and Carroll Counties. DJ served on the boards of the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center, the YMCA of Hanover and True North. He volunteered and was a past member of the Hanover Area Jaycees.
DJ was a member of the Arcadian Club and the McSherrystown Home Association. He was an avid reader. He loved sports, coaching youth soccer and youth football for Bryce and Evan.
In addition to his loving wife, Kristin, DJ is survived by his two sons, Bryce J. Hart and Evan A. Hart at home; a sister, Jamie A. Hart and husband, Robert Sowell of Kitty Hawk, NC; a brother, Brian E. Hart and wife Heather of Mechanicsburg, PA;
Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate and remember DJ’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, August 21, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA with the Msgr. James M. Lyons officiating. The family will receive friends and share memories from 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
