Donald W. Fahey, 76, of Glenville, PA, entered into God’s Eternal care, Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Hanover Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born July 11, 1940, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Warren and Margaret (McAfee) Fahey. He was the loving husband of Josette C. (Giordano) Fahey with whom he shared forty-five years of marriage.
Donald was a graduate of Loyola Blakefield College Preparatory School in Towson, MD. He received a degree in Engineering from Loyola University in Baltimore, MD, and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, MD. He retired after thirty-five years as an engineer for Lucent Technologies.
Donald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, where he was an Eucharistic Minister, and former member of the Parish Council. He was a member of the Friends of Italy, Amici d’Italia, of Hanover, PA. He served as a Manheim Township Supervisor for many years and coached youth softball and baseball.
Donald enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles and Notre Dame Football, gardening, wine making and apple sauce making.
In addition to his wife Josette, Donald is survived by his children, Christina M. Fahey of Columbia, MD, Angela M. Meekins and her husband, Major Brian of Great Casterton, England; and Joseph D. Fahey and his wife, Andrea of Arlington, VA; four grandchildren, Abaigael, Kiera and Conor Meekins and Margot J. Fahey; one brother, Dennis Fahey and his wife Nancy of Hanover, PA; and four sisters, Sheila von Kerczek and her husband Chris of Annapolis, MD, Maureen Schuster of Marco Island, FL, Kathleen Joesting and her husband, David of Ellicott City, MD, and Margaret Noll and her husband, Jerry of Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Fahey.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and remember Donald will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Monsignor James M. Lyons as celebrant. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, and from 10:00-11:00AM, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
