Edwin R. Osborn, 99, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Columbia Cottage, Hanover, PA.
Born August 10, 1917, in Boring, MD, he was the son of the late L. Russell and Goldie (Heintzman) Osborn. He was the loving husband of Helen Marie (Weaver) Hawn Osborn with whom he shared 25 years of marriage and the late Ethel Lavinia (Fridinger) Osborn.
Edwin retired after many years as a butcher for Dutterer’s in Manchester, MD.
Edwin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, and the Hanover Moose Lodge #227.
In addition to his wife Helen, Edwin is survived by a son, Elmer E. Osborn and his wife, Dianne of Albuquerque, NM; 4 grandchildren, Debi Flynn, Dwyne Osborn, Bryan Osborn, Christopher Osborn; 4 great-grandchildren, Patrick, Cristiano, Erica and Markus; five step-children, Jeannette Roberts of Augusta, GA, Patrick Hawn and wife, Patricia of Gettysburg, PA, Diane Hawn of York, PA, Lorena Wasserman of Shermansdale, PA and Kevin Hawn and wife, Faye of Hanover, PA; eight step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Edwin R. Osborn, Jr., two brothers, and four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and remember Edwin’s life will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 11, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Monsignor James M. Lyons as celebrant. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00 - 7:30 PM, Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. A second viewing will be held from 9:30 – 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the church. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Reisterstown, MD at 1:30 PM, Thursday, May 11, 2017.
