Frances V. Stair, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care, Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Hanover Hospital.

Born December 26, 1926, in Glenville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Estella (Spangler) Doll. Frances was the loving wife of the late Sterling G. Stair who died March 23, 1997.

She was a member of St. David’s (Sherman) United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA where she served on various committees over the years.

Frances retired from the former Nichol’s Department Store of Hanover following many years of service.

She was a former volunteer with the Hanover Hospital and served as a Gray Lady.

Frances is survived by her daughters; Frances (Judy) Marsh of McSherrystown, PA, Christine M. Gladfelter and her husband Robert of York, PA, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, her brother, Maurice Doll of Spring Grove, PA, her sisters; Elaine Seifert of East Berlin, PA and Mary Rohrbaugh of Hanover, PA. She was preceded in death by her children; Brenda S. Kerchner, Sterling J. Stair, Linda L. Miller, brothers; Glenn Doll, William Doll, sisters; Phyllis Brant and Marcella Krebs.

A service to celebrate and remember Frances’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with her pastor, the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the funeral home.
