Gerald L. Pfaff, Sr.

Gerald L. Pfaff, Sr., 88, of Bonneauville, PA, entered into God’s eternal care, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born February 5, 1928 in Littlestown, PA, he was the son of the late Gerald L. Sr. and Mary (Anthony) Pfaff.    Gerald was the loving husband of Irene C. (Gebhart) Pfaff with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.

Mr. Pfaff was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, (Bonneauville) Gettysburg, PA, was a member and past Commander of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1342, Bonneauville, PA, the Bonneauville Lions Club, the American Legion Post 262 Biglerville, PA and the McSherrystown Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight.

Gerald was self-employed as a building contractor for 55 years until his retirement in January 2005.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country proudly during World War II.

Mr. Pfaff was an avid hunter, enjoyed watching car races and football on TV, but he especially enjoyed being with his family.

In addition to his wife, Irene, Gerald is survived by seven children, Gerald Pfaff, Sr. and companion Gail Benson of Biglerville, PA, Brenda Pfaff-Lee and husband Joseph of Littlestown, PA, Lawrence Pfaff and wife Chris of Gettysburg, PA, Cathy Pfaff-Neiman and husband Tom of New Oxford, PA, Susan Pfaff of Gettysburg, PA, David Pfaff and wife Roni of Gettysburg, PA, and John Pfaff and wife Diana of Biglerville, PA, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one sister, Helena Rohrbaugh.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Pfaff, three brothers, William Pfaff, Charles Pfaff, and Robert “Posie” Pfaff, and two sisters, Margaret Bunty and Celene Todt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 East Hanover Street, Bonneauville, PA, with Father Peter E. DiTomasso officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Cemetery.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Bonneauville, PA, with a prayer service at 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice Program, 260 West High Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
