Gordon V. Culp, 89, loving husband, father, and grandfather, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s Eternal care, Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the York Hospital.

Born May 23, 1928, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late T. Earl, Sr. and Pauline B. (Adams) Culp.  He was the loving husband of the late Esther M. (Cleveland) Culp, who died April 24, 2013, and with whom he shared sixty-six years of marriage.

Gordon was a member of St. David’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA. 

Gordon was a 1946 graduate of Eichelberger High School.  He worked in the family business before becoming the Co-Owner of Culp’s Hanover News Agency from 1964 to 2004, which has been in his family since 1923.    

Gordon was an avid golfer. He was a true family man.  He enjoyed working at the News Agency but he always made sure his family came first.   He loved spending time with his family.

Gordon is survived by his children, Dr. Gordon V. Culp, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Sterling, VA, Maureen E. Rickrode and husband Donald of Spring Grove, PA, Denise V. Culp of Hanover PA and James A. Culp and wife Robin of Hanover, PA;  grandchildren, Donald C. Rickrode, Jr. and wife Anngel of East Berlin, PA, Melissa E. Culp Carocci and husband Steve of Honolulu, Hawaii, William A. Rickrode and wife Amber of York New Salem, PA, Angela J. Culp of Ashburn, VA and Gordon V. Culp, III of Herndon, VA; a brother, Henry G. Culp of Warminster, PA; and two sisters, Corinne Y. Henderson of Hanover, PA and Vesta L. Coulson of Lewsiville, TX.  He was preceded in death by a brother, T. Earl Culp, Jr. and a sister, Pauline E. Garrett.

Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.

Memorial contributions in memory of Gordon may be made to the VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
