Harvey E. Smeak, 86, of York, PA, entered into God’s eternal care, Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the York Hospital.

Born July 11, 1929 in Union Mills, MD, he was the son of the late Harvey N. and Madaline C. (Koontz) Smeak. Harvey was the loving husband of the late Henrietta M. (Crowl) Smeak who died October 3, 1997.

Mr. Smeak was a veteran of The United States Army, having served his country proudly.

Harvey retired after working as a long haul truck driver, most recently with Kelly Trucking Company.

Mr. Smeak was a member of the American Legion Post #14 of Hanover.

Harvey is survived by his children; Ralph E. Smeak and his wife Jane of New Oxford, PA, Harvey N. Smeak and his wife Lois of Hanover, PA, Lisa A. Ruth of Quakertown, PA, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother, William Smeak and sister, Chairmaine Klunk. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Smeak.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Harvey will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with Rev. Timothy J. Kielley officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA, with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard providing Military Honors. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10– 11 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harvey’s memory to Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard, 107 Sherry Drive, McSherrystown, PA 17344.
