Ima Kay H. Zimmermann, 73, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, August 16, 2016 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born September 23, 1943 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Ima K. (Topper) Hipp.  Ima Kay was the loving wife of Laurence S. Zimmermann with whom she would have celebrated forty-two years of marriage on August 24th.  

Ima Kay was a 1961 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.  Upon graduation, she attended Ursuline College in Louisville, KY and Hagerstown Business College in Hagerstown MD receiving an Associate degree.  Ima Kay received further training at Carroll County Hospital and Harrisburg Osteopathic Hospital and became a Histologist.  She continued in this field and worked at the Hanover Hospital from 1968-1977.  More recently she served as business manager for the Hanover Symphony Orchestra from 2006 thru 2016. 

Ima Kay was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA.  She served as a former board member with the Hanover Symphony Orchestra. 

In addition to her loving husband, Laurence, Ima Kay is survived by a daughter, Sarah E. Zimmermann of Hanover, PA. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA with Monsignor James Lyons as celebrant.  A time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the church.  Burial will be held in Annunciation, B.V.M. Church Cemetery, McSherrystown, PA. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ima Kay’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 3001 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
