Mary Evelyn (Baker) Lerch, 97, died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at home.  She was the wife of the late Leonard G. Lerch, who passed away March 29, 1998.

Born October 11, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Nora (Stein) Baker and the late John T. Baker.

Surviving are a son, Leonard A. Lerch and wife Pauline, three daughters, Sherry L. Sowers of Spring Grove, Debra M. Richard of Hanover, and Jody N. Lerch of Hanover; five grandchildren, Brett E. Sowers, Chad A. Sowers, Amanda B. Thomason, Jadi F. Davis and Jeffrey L. Davis; five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Ellie Sowers, Deklin Sowers, and Karra and Shanna Thomason; and her beloved pets, Doc, Maggie and Kitty.  She was preceded in death by her son, Mark C. Lerch, sisters Bernadine Baker and Marzella Balaban and brother John (Jack) Baker.

Mary was the heart and inspiration of her family.  She loved life and all the people in it.  She was an avid reader and was strong-willed and strong in her faith, a true blessing.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with the Rev. Dr. Sterling Walsh, Jr. officiating.   Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA.   Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the funeral home.    

Serving as Pallbearers will be Leonard Lerch, Thomas Stein, Brett and Chad Sowers, Jeff Davis and Shane (Gabe) Thomason.
