Melvin LeRoy Bange

Melvin LeRoy Bange, 88, of Glenville, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at home with his loving family at his side. 

Born March 13, 1929 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Edward L. and Grace I. (Wonder) Bange.  Melvin was the loving husband of the late Marie E. (Spangler) Bange who died August 1, 2013.  

Melvin attended Grace Bible Church, Manchester, MD.  He was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.

Mr. Bange retired from Hanover Foods after 42 years of service.  He was a life-long custom farmer who loved chopping silage and running the combine at every harvest, including this past November.

Melvin is survived by his children, Yolanda M. Leer of Middletown, PA, Rebecca I. Bange of Glenville, PA, Andrew L. Bange of Glenville, PA, Rachel A. Cox of Aiken, SC, John E. Bange of Glen Rock, PA, and James E. Bange of Spring Grove, PA; eleven grandchildren, Carmen Myers, Matthew Leer, Megan Davison, Hannah Cox, Sarah Cox, Micah Cox, Mariah Cox, Emily Bange, Kelly Bange, Vincent Bange and Joseph Bange; four great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Caelyn, Rowen and Kolten; siblings, Janet White of Annville, PA, Mearl Bange of Spring Grove, PA, Sylvia Malehorn of Hanover, PA and Kathryn Thomas of Port St. Lucie, FL.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jada M. Bange, and three sisters, Miriam Myers, Martha Houser, and Roseanna Landis.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Melvin’s life will be held 10 AM, Monday, February 5, 2018 at Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Drive, Hanover, PA, with his Pastor the Rev. Gregory Breen officiating.  Viewings and times to share memories with the family will be held from 2 – 4 PM, Sunday, February 4, 2018, as well as from 9-10 AM, Monday, February 5, 2018 at the church.  Burial will be in York Road Cemetery.
