Welcome to the memorial page for

Raymond R. Neal

September 4, 2017

Raymond Randolph “Randy” Neal of Red Lion, PA went to meet his Savior on Monday, September 4, 2017.

A native of his beloved California, he was born in Riverside on June 28, 1945 to the late Sidney R. and Irene (Breese) Neal.

After graduating from Grossmont High School he went on to further his education with degrees from San Diego State University, Fuller Seminary, and the University of Southern California.

He was, among many other things, a youth pastor, entrepreneur, and businessman, but above all, he was a teacher.  His compassion for people, his boundless passion for life and extensive knowledge base, combined with an ability to take abstract truth and effortlessly translate it into a highly accessible vernacular, will be among the things that make his loss irreplaceable.   We will miss the long, long talks.

He leaves behind, for a while, his dear wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Lewis) and four children, Karen Proppe and husband Leo of Dover, PA, Bonnie Da Costa and husband Jeremy of Oceanside, CA, Don and wife Kate of Hanover, PA, and Bill and wife Bekki of Madison, WI, and 15 grandchildren: Ty, Dana, Jamie, Leah, Cora, Leo, Alex, Samantha, Benjamin, Jude, Charlie, Debbie, Audrey, Levi and Elisha.  He is also survived by his mother, Irene Neal of Ramona, CA and one sister, Marilyn J. Speed of San Diego, CA, and 10 beloved nieces and nephews and their families, as well as many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Sidney Neal, and a brother, Gary Bruce Neal.

‘When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

Where, O death, is your victory?

Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God!  He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
