Dear Donna, I am so sorry to hear the news. Dick was such a joy to work with when we both worked in the Patchogue Soc Sec office. I'm living in Peru NY now, eight miles south of SUNY Plattsburgh and am on the campus fairly frequently. I'll think of you both when I am there. May God give you strength and endurance and finally peace as you face this next part of your life's journey.

I worked with Dick from July, 1996 until he retired in 2001 and Mark and I attended events with Dick and Donna. Dick always had a joke or story at the office and a cheerful greeting. He was generous with his knowledge and often shared stories of his family. He could make me laugh so hard I would have tears running down my face. He was a true Irishman with his tales. I will miss knowing that he is only a phone call away. It was nice to know he was standing by. "Friends are the pillars on your porch. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes they lean on you, and sometimes it’s just enough to know that they are standing by." Author Unknown

Dick was the best kind of friend anyone would ever want. He definitely always had a twinkle in his eye, a smile on his face, a quick wit with the gift of great storytelling and a heart of gold. He was very proud of his Irish heritage - he got us to switch from scotch to Jameson ! He will be greatly missed. With our love and prayers to you dear friend.

Dick and I "grew old together. But at times, when we laughed, we grew young. If he was here now, if he could hear what I say, I'd congratulate him on being a great man, and thank him for being a friend"

Dick was full of life & laughter. A smile for all who knew him or met him for the first time. He was my co-worker at SSA. May he rest in peace in God;s loving arms.

Dick was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend (not to mention brother-in-law). Thankful and honored to have had him in my life for the past 50 years and how welcoming he and Donna were to my new wife. We love you Dick !

I worked with Dick at Social Security for many years. Great co-worker, great friend. So glad for all the times after his retirement that we all got together. As someone posted already, a true Irish gentleman. Dick and Donna were the perfect married couple - plenty of love., plenty of fun, plenty of faith. We will all miss you,, Dick.
