Robert Francis Leppo, 92, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Fair Havens Assisted Living, Hanover, PA.
Born January 19, 1925, in McSherrystown, PA, he was the son of the late D. Maurice and Emma A. (Ackerman) Leppo.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country proudly during World War II. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal as well as the Good Conduct Medal.
Robert was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, the American Legion Post #14, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #763, and the Republican Club, all of Hanover, PA, and the Catholic War Veterans Post #1342, Bonneauville, PA.
Robert retired after many years as a salesman for the New York Diamond Exchange.
Robert was survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his companion, Allen J. (Bud) Culbertson; four brothers, Leon Leppo, Lester Leppo, Leroy Leppo, and Lawrence Leppo; and five sisters, Marilyn (Dolly) Smith, Violet Shildt, Gladys Meckley, Mary Miller, and Faye Neary.
A funeral service will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with the Father Michael P. Reid II officiating. The Hanover Allied Veteran’s Honor Guard will provide military honors. Burial will be in Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church Cemetery, McSherrystown, PA. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 9 – 10 AM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the funeral home.
