Robert D. Zartman, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care, Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center.

Born July 7, 1926 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Reibling) Zartman. He was the loving husband of the late Arlene (Miller) Zartman who died March 9, 2009.

He was a 1944 graduate of Eichelberger High School. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country proudly.

Mr. Zartman was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2506, Hanover.

Robert was employed by St. Regis Papermill of York until his retirement.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Hess and her husband Terry of Hanover, PA, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Raymond Zartman and Ralph Zartman.

A funeral service to remember Robert’s life will be held at 10 AM, Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the funeral home.
