Kent Shisler, at 64, passed peacefully to be with the Lord at his home on October 16th, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Audrey Shisler for 35 years.
Kent was born in Lansdale PA and graduated from North Penn High School. Kent graduated from Slippery Rock University and Elizabethtown College with a degree in accounting. Kent, while living in Hatfield, PA, passed his CPA boards and began his career working for Niessen, Dunlap, and Pritchard. Kent and family then moved to New Windsor MD, where he was the comptroller for SERRV. Kent then focused his career at the Brethren Home Community of New Oxford, PA where he worked as CFO for 19 years.
Kent was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren and was actively involved in the church, holding many positions as deacon, committee member, auditor, and board chair. Kent loved spending time with his family and fostered a strong love for many outdoor activities from birdwatching, gardening, and kayaking to photography and hiking especially on the Appalachian Trail.
Kent was a blessing to his family and is survived by his wife Audrey, father Arlin Shisler and wife Esther. Two daughters: Sarah Schwarz and husband Alston and granddaughter Willow, and Leah Stone with husband Jonathon. Sister Brenda Wall with husband Christopher and niece Diane Flint with husband Jeremy and their children Theo, Lilly, and Luke. Sister Donna Speakman with husband William and their son Adam Speakman with wife Stephanie. Brother Karl Shisler with wife Bernadette and their sons, Ryan, and Isaiah. Kent was proceeded in death by his mother- Beulah Shisler, grandparents- Claude and Naomi Shisler and a nephew- Joshua Wall.
A service to celebrate Kent’s life will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 2022, at Blackrock Church of the Brethren with Pastor Brandon Grady officiating. Visitation starts at 10am and the service will start at 11am. Everyone is invited to the fellowship hall for lunch and continued celebration of Kent’s life.
