Barry Clyde Colehouse

Barry Clyde Colehouse, 69, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side.

Born August 6, 1947 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of Charlotte V. (Stair) Colehouse and the late Gilbert E. Colehouse, Sr.  Barry was the loving husband of Susan G. (Allen) Colehouse with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Barry was a member of New Hope Faith Community Church, Hanover, PA. 

Barry was a 1965 graduate of Hanover High School, Hanover, PA.  He retired from P. H. Glatfelter with thirty-three years of service.   

Barry served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Barry was a member of the Hanover Home Association and the Fraternal Order of the Moose.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed civil war history, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Susan, Barry is survived by his children, Tiffany Jo Sterner and husband Robert,  Barrie Lynn Held and husband Peter; four grandchildren, Noah Colehouse, Isabelle Colehouse, Grace Stauffer and Davelyn Colehouse; and siblings, Linda Fissel, Ann Baugher, Gilbert E. Colehouse, Jr. and Helen Dillion.

A memorial service to celebrate and remember Barry will be held 11:00AM, Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with the Rev. Fred Stevenson officiating.  Burial will be held in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, July 28, 2016 at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barry’s memory may be made to Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc., 7008 Little River Turnpike, PO Box 49, Annandale, VA 22003.
