Bernice Mae Cool, 92, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center, Hanover, PA.
Born January 28, 1926 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Phares W. and Helen I. (Musselman) Harget. She was the loving wife of the late Dale J. Cool who died February 14, 1990 and with whom she shared forty-seven years of marriage.
Bernice was a member of St. David’s U.C.C., Hanover, PA. She also belonged to the Homewood at Plum Creek Auxiliary and A.A.R.P.
Mrs. Cool was the owner/operator of R. J. Brendle Company, where she worked for over thirty years until her retirement in 1989.
Bernice is survived by her children, Joan Unger of Littlestown, PA, Priscilla “Sis” Horan of Hanover, PA, Linda DeVivio of Mooresville, NC, Fay Cool of Elkton, MD and Scott Cool of Statesville, NC; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Doyle of Thomasville, PA. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Bruce, Kenneth, Robert, Donald, James and Phares Harget; and two sisters, Jean Tharp and Patsy Kwedar.
Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate and remember Bernice will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, June 22, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bernice’s name to St. David’s U.C.C., 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
