Chester C. “Chet” Peters, 81, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Homewood at Plum Creek Retirement Home, Hanover, PA.
Born May 16, 1936 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Delbert S. and Elizabeth B. (Conner) Peters. Chet was the loving husband of Marcia E. (English) Peters with whom he shared fifty-four years of marriage.
Mr. Peters was a veteran, serving his country proudly with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Chet was a 1954 graduate of Chambersburg Area High School. He retired in 2008, having worked as an outside salesman for various companies in the area, including Caskey Printing and The Anstadt Company.
Mr. Peters was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA and the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 763 of Hanover.
Chet enjoyed sports, especially tennis and basketball, and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to loving wife, Marcia, Chet is survived by his daughters, Cara Lynn Clabaugh of Hanover, PA and Wendy Peters of Cape Canaveral, FL; three grandchildren, Zach Clabaugh, Brady McConnell and Brooks McConnell; and a sister-in-law, Janet L. Peters of Chambersburg, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Peters.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Chet’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 129 Charles Street, Hanover, PA, with his Pastor, the Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Dubs Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA, with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail providing Military Honors. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 9:30-11:00 AM, Monday, May 21, 2018 at the church.
Serving as Casketbearers will be Zach Clabaugh, Brady McConnell, Brooks McConnell, Kris Raubenstine, Tom Long and Don Seidenstricker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chet’s name to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 129 Charles Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
