Deborah Ann "Ladybug" (Dutterer) Weir

Deborah "Ladybug" Ann (Dutterer) Weir, of Hanover, PA (formerly of Eldersburg, MD), age 60, passed away at her home and went to be with her Lord on August 14, 2017 following a long and courageous struggle with cancer.   Debbie was proud to be blessed by a large family whom she loved dearly:  her loving and devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Jerry Weir, to whom she was married for 20 years; daughter and son-in-law Angela and Dennis Pugh of Hagerstown, MD; stepsons Robert "Bobby" Weir of McKees Rocks, PA and Ian Weir of Oakdale, PA; grandchildren  Romie Cheese of Westminster, Nayana Cheese of Hagerstown, Raekwan Dorsey of Westminster, and Heaven Dorsey of  Westminster; great-grandchildren Ka'Niyah Cheese and Jamari Walker; parents, Nancy (Donofrio-Dutterer) Joneckis of Hanover, PA, and the late Calvin Gordon Dutterer (of  Westminster, MD); sisters and brother-in-laws Sharon and Norman Kennedy of Whitley City, KY, Brenda and Clayton Black of Hanover, PA, Roxanne and Timothy Snyder of Hanover, PA, and Billie Jo and Craig Paskoski of Finksburg, MD;  loving mother-in-law Caroline Jones of Springboro, PA; close sister-in-laws Carol (Weir) Trosko of Centreville, VA and Deborah (Weir) Meyer of Springboro, PA; Bob's step-siblings Michael Jones of Houston, TX, PA, Kathy (Jones) Skurnick of Duncansville, PA; and the late Walter Jones (of Oakdale, PA) and their families; devoted best friends Sally Covington of Eldersburg, MD, Brenda Bezanson of Littlestown, PA, and Sheri Rice of Sykesville, MD; and  numerous nephews, nieces, cousins.  A memorial service celebrating Debbie's life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 328 Klees Mill Rd., Sykesville, MD, 21784 with the Reverend Ernest Thayil officiating.   Debbie attended Francis Scott Key High School, Union Bridge, MD.  She retired from Springfield Hospital Center (Eldersburg, MD) where she served as a dedicated employee for over 35 years. Debbie was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Sykesville, MD where she loved her Church family and she enjoyed helping with Church activities especially fundraiser dinners, bake sales, cleaning projects, and outreach programs.  Debbie was an avid reader and writer, especially of poetry, and she was honored to have one of her poem's, "Montage", published. Debbie is remembered as being faithful, loving, and always sharing the message of faith with others and encouraging others to be the best they can be.  She always had a warm smile and kind words, and Deb's spirit of happiness sparkled within her beautiful blue eyes.  Debbie loved spending time with her family and friends and she enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, motorcycling with friends, and ocean vacations.  Debbie adored ladybugs and many that knew Debbie, called her "Ladybug"!  In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting precious animals, who Debbie especially adored, by contributing to a local animal shelter in Debbie's name: York County SPCA (PA), the Adams County SPCA (PA), or the Carroll County SPCA (MD).  Debbie always smiled a little brighter when visited by pets belonging to her family members!
