Dorothy A. Crough, 82, of Emmitsburg, MD, entered God’s Eternal Care Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Joseph’ Ministry (formerly St. Catherine’s Nursing Center) in Emmitsburg, MD, with her loving family by her side. 

Born May 4, 1935 in Phelps, NY she was the daughter of the late Raymond O. and Sarah (Robyn) Phillips.  She was the loving wife of the late Robert T. Crough who died January 9, 2012.

Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville, PA. 

Dorothy worked at Hanover Shoe Farms for many years.  She loved animals, especially horses and cats, and also enjoyed cooking for her family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Sarah Oberhofer of Milwaukee, WI, Raymond Crough of Frederick, MD and Patrick Crough of Tiverton, RI; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Raymond Phillips of Fairport, NY. 

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and remember Dorothy’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 E. Hanover Street, Gettysburg (located in Bonneauville), PA, with Father Benny Jose as Celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Cemetery, Bonneauville, PA.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the church.

Donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. Joseph’s Ministry (formerly St. Catherine’s Nursing Center), 331 South Seton Avenue Emmitsburg, Maryland 21727.
