Edward John Porowski

Edward John Porowski, 63, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover with his loving family by his side.

Born in Johnstown, PA on September 24, 1954, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Helen V. (Zieminski) Porowski.  Edward was the loving husband of Nancy F. (Miller) Porowski with whom he shared thirty-three years of marriage.

Edward was a graduate of Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown, PA.  He was employed by Homewood at Plum Creek for over twenty-three years as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Edward was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, and the Hanover Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his loving wife, Nancy, Edward is survived by his daughters, Courtney D. Kurtz and husband Karl of East Earl, PA and Dawn M. Porowski and Brandon McMaster of Hanover, PA; three grandchildren, Jonathan M. Kurtz, Damien M. Walton and Kaylannha M. Walton; and two brothers, Walter J. Porowski of Hanover, PA, and Donald M. Porowski of Duncan, SC. 

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Edward’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Deacon Thomas Aumen officiating.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  Viewings and times to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2018 and from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603, or to the American Lung Association, 3001 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
