Eugene Leroy Rorrer

Eugene Leroy Rorrer, 65, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at home with his loving family by his side.

Born January 3, 1954 in Hanover, PA, he was the son James K. Rorrer and the late Dorothy (Small) Rorrer.  Eugene was the loving husband of Susan J. (Altland) Rorrer with whom he shared thirty-seven years of marriage. 

Eugene was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville, PA, and a member of the McSherrystown Moose. 

Eugene was a self-employed drywall finisher.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, going to casino’s, shooting pool, going to the beach with his family and being outdoors under the sun.

In addition to his loving wife, Susan, Eugene is survived by his children, Amy M. Schriver of McSherrystown, PA, Tod E. Rorrer of Dover, PA, Ted E. Rorrer, Eugenia D. Rorrer and Emily J. Rorrer, all of Hanover, PA; eight grandchildren, Breanna, Nathan, Evan, Landon, Grayson, Liam, Noah, Leah, and another grandchild on the way; two brothers, James Rorrer of Littlestown, PA, Jerry Rorrer, Sr. of Cambridge, MD; and a sister, Kelly Rorrer-Bruce of Dover, PA.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Rorrer.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Eugene will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with Deacon Richard Weaver officiating.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eugene’s name to the VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
