George Anderson, III Obituary

George Thomas (Tom) Anderson, III, 69, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Transitions Nursing Center, Gettysburg, PA.

Born September 26, 1950, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late George T., Jr. and Joyce (Verrill) Anderson. 

Tom was a Vietnam Veteran who was awarded a Purple Heart after being wounded in combat. He was a career truck driver and a member of the Hanover VFW Post 2506, the Fraternal Order of Eagles - Aerie #1406, Hanover Moose Lodge #227, and American Legion Post #14.

Tom enjoyed cars, was an avid NASCAR fan, and he loved being around people, especially his family and friends. Nicknamed Tommy Bang Bang by some of his friends, his pistol was never out of reach.

In addition to his wife, Teresa, Tom is survived by his children, Ashley L. Anderson of Westminster, MD, and Shane M. Anderson of Littlestown, PA; and two sisters, Joyce Bailey of Downers Grove, IL, and Laurie Wilbur of Bangor, ME.

Following cremation, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
