Helen M. Yingling, 93, of Spring Grove, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Home, Hanover, PA.
Born September 29, 1925 in Deep Run, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Annie (Garvick) Sullivan. Helen was the loving wife of the late Stuart E. Yingling.
Mrs. Yingling was a life-long member of Hanover Church of the Brethren, Hanover, PA, and volunteered for many years at the PAL Lunch Program of the Hanover Area Council of Churches.
Helen worked for the Jackson Shoe Company for thirty years and then changed to H.O. Toor. She worked in the cafeteria of St. Francis Prep School, Spring Grove, PA.
Mrs. Yingling enjoyed crocheting, quilting, keeping a clean house, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen is survived by two children, Darlene M. Laughman and husband Bob, Wayne E. Yingling, and wife Nancy all of Spring Grove, PA; five grandchildren, Joseph Luckenbaugh, Neal Yingling, Ryan Yingling, Sherry Berwager, and Lisa Small; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, David L. Sullivan, Marlin Sullivan, Herbert A. Sullivan, Harold G. Sullivan and two sisters, Mary M. Cunningham and Esther I. Miller.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Helen’s life will be held 11:30 AM, Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Hanover Church of the Brethren, 601 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA, with her Pastor the Rev. Geraldine Godfrey officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. Viewings and times to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, as well as from 10:30 – 11:30 AM, Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to the Hanover Church of the Brethren, 601 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
