Joyce was a lifetime member of Grace United Church of Christ in Hanover, PA, and was quite knowledgeable of the contents in the Bible. She enjoyed traveling and saw beauty and innocence in every flower and animal. She could be found reading several newspapers daily catching up on the latest current events throughout the world and a lively discussion of politics was always engaging conversation that she enjoyed immensely. Her delicious cooking and lovely welcoming demeanor as a hostess, was enjoyed by many throughout the years.
A loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother who would do anything for her family, taught all those who knew and loved her dearly, how to accept life as it may, to be of strong character and to grow old gracefully and with dignity.
Per Joyce’s wishes, a private gravesite service for family members only will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery, in Hanover, PA. Those wishing to honor her remembrance, may do so by making a contribution to the Guthrie Memorial Library – 2 Library Place, Hanover, PA 17331 or to the York County S.P.C.A. – 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
