Judy Ann Korbal, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
Judy was born on June 2, 1949, the daughter of Melvin and Clara (Warner) Sager in Hanover, PA. Judy attended local schools in Hanover and graduated from Southwestern High School in 1967. Judy started writing letters to service men stationed overseas, when a cousin was living there with her husband serving in Germany. One that she wrote to was John Korbal. After they started corresponding, that was it; they were both hooked. In 1970 Judy moved to Stevens Point where John was from, and they were married on January 9, 1971.
Judy had an active mind and kept very busy. Her hobbies include: Bridge on Wednesdays at the Lincoln Center, writing poetry, crossword puzzles, cards and games with friends, going to the casino, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and eventually loved watching the Chicago Cubs.
Judy’s gentle wisdom and kindness was shared with many. She was a warm, humorous and kind woman that will always be loved by those that knew her. A true believer that laughter is the best medicine, spending time with good friends and family, and exercising her sharp wit was what she loved most.
She is survived by her husband: John Korbal, 2 daughters: Kim Korbal and Kris Korbal, her sister Darlene Matthews, 4 brothers: Larry (Linda) Sager, Gordy Sager, Brad (Dawn) Sager, and Darrell (Jane) Sager. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Terry Sager, Sr.
Burial will be held at a later date.
