Kenneth C. Gulden

September 28, 1920 ~ August 13, 2017 (age 96) 96 Years Old


Kenneth Charles Gulden, 96, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born September 28, 1920, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Martha V. (Resh) Gulden.  Kenneth was the loving husband of the late Dorothy W. (Pope) Gulden who died August 16, 2008.

Mr. Gulden was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA, where he was a very faithful and active member.

Kenneth was a veteran of the Merchant Marines and then drafted by the United States Army, serving his country proudly during World War II.

Mr. Gulden was a 1939 graduate of Eichelberger High School.  He was an avid gardener and grew roses for his wife.  Together they traveled all over the world including all 50 states.

Kenneth retired in 1984, having worked for Sunoco Products as a shift supervisor.

Kenneth is survived by four children, Linda L. Laughman and husband, Donald B. of Hanover PA, Dona K. Price and husband, Donald C. of Cammal, PA, Bradford L. Gulden and wife, Theresa of New Oxford, PA, and Wesley S. Gulden and wife, Marcy of Colorado Springs, CO; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Brinton of Hanover, PA.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther Gulden and Burnell R. Gulden; and two sisters, Mildred V. Howard and Louella Small.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Kenneth at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the church.  Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kenneth’s memory to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut Street, Hanover, PA 17331 or The Hospice Program of the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
