Margaret E. Lovejoy

Margaret E. Lovejoy, 91, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at her home.

Born May 20, 1927 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Catherine (Wrightson) Hummer.  Margaret was the loving wife of the late Rev. John A. Lovejoy who died July 2003.

Mrs. Lovejoy was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hanover, PA.  She loved cooking, baking, sewing, crafts, but especially enjoyed being with her family. 

Margaret is survived by her children, J. Steven Lovejoy of Baltimore, MD, Susan E. Lovejoy of Lehighton, PA, and Patricia L. Hegberg of Hanover, PA; six grandchildren, John J. Lovejoy, J. David Lovejoy, Julia A. Lovejoy, Joshua L. Koch, Timothy D. Hegberg, and Rebecca Hegberg; six great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Sophia, Kyler, Connor and Lennon. She is also survived by Tom Fissel, her longtime companion for 15 years.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Earnest W. Hummer. 

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Margaret’s life will be held 11:30 AM, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with her Pastor the Rev. Greg Rapp officiating.   Burial will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD, 10:45 AM, Tuesday, September 4, 2018.   A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:30 AM, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the church.
