Michael Louis Fortino, 66, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s Eternal Care, Saturday, June 15, 2019 at home with his loving family by his side.
Born May 17, 1953, in Ticonderoga, NY, Michael was the son of Louis S. and Mary E. (Bessett) Fortino. He was the loving husband of Claire M. (Duguay) Fortino, with whom he would have celebrated forty-four years of marriage on June 21st.
Michael was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School, Ticonderoga, NY. He was a veteran and served his country proudly in the United States Coast Guard.
Michael was a member of Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, McSherrystown, PA.
Michael retired in 2003, having worked as a foreman for Carretti Masonry for twenty years. He was a member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local # 5 and the McSherrystown Home Association. He enjoyed cooking, was a tremendous New York Yankees and Giants fan, and especially loved babysitting his grandkids.
In addition to his loving wife, Claire, Michael is survived by his children, Jason M. Fortino and wife Crystal, Jessica M. Doll, Kayla R. Hahn and husband Justin; four grandchildren, Cayman M. Fortino, Matthew R. Doll, Hallie E. Doll, and Jaxsen E. Fortino. He was preceded in death by his oldest grandson, Bryan Doll, Jr., who passed away February 3, 2018.
A memorial service to celebrate and remember Michael will be held 7:30 PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Father Charles Persing officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the funeral home.
