Miriam “Mim” Louise Schorner, 90, of Hanover, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Hanover Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born May 31, 1927 in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of the late Homer P. and Verna M. (Jackson) Summers and a 1945 Graduate of Altoona Area High School. Miriam was the loving wife (59 years) of the late Conrad E. Schorner who died November 15, 2005.
She was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Hanover, PA and a former member of Hope Baptist Church, Hanover, PA, remembered for her sweet spirit, smile and hugs. She loved serving the Lord through church ministries, especially singing. Mim and her late husband Conrad started the Hymn Sing at the Clearview Terrace Community and she continued to run it for the past 15 years.
She was formerly employed at Double Day Book Company, Veit Furniture and Hanover Direct until her retirement.
A loving devoted mother, whose children and grandchildren rise up and call her blessed. (Proverbs 31). Miriam is survived by her children, Thomas Schorner of Altoona, PA, Deborah (Michael) Hensler of Wellsburg, WV, Sandra (Gary) Mills of Hanover, PA, Eilene (Robert) Juergens of Hanover, PA, and Jeffrey (Lee Ann Ruth) Schorner of Spring Grove, PA, 14 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Katie M. Hensler, and three brothers, Leroy Summers, Ray Summers, and Kenneth Summers.
Viewings and times to share memories with the family will be held from 6 – 8 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Hope Baptist Church, 6450 Hope Way, Hanover, PA, as well as from 1:30 – 2:30 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Miriam’s life will be held 2:30 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA, with Pastor Allen G. Harris and Pastor Rick Quinett officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Miriam’s name may be made to the Missions funds at Calvary Bible Church and Hope Baptist Church (addresses above) or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
