Phyllis M. Pottorff

Phyllis M. Pottorff, 82, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, December 8, 2108 at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center.  

Born February 7, 1936 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Treva (Sholl) Yingling.  

Phyllis graduated from Eichelberger High School in 1953.  She retired in January 2000, having worked as a telephone operator for the United Telephone Company for forty-six years.

Phyllis was an active member of Captivate Community Church, Hanover, PA., and a long time friend of Bill W’s. 

Phyllis legacy is her immediate and extended family, her “special” people that she loved voraciously. 

Phyllis is survived by her children, Bobbi Jo Hughes of Hanover, PA, Penni L. Hodum of Glenville, PA, and Patti L. Pottorff of Elmira, NY; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Swope and a brother, William Yingling.

A memorial service will be held 3:00PM, Friday, December 14, 2018 for immediate family at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center, 267 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Pastor Vern Annis officiating.

A celebration of Phyllis’s life will be planned at a later date. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
