Raymond “Jake” E. Gebhart, Jr., 84, of Bonneauville, PA, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born August 12, 1932 in Bonneauville, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond E. Sr. and Mildred R. (Groft) Gebhart. Raymond was the loving husband of Doris Marie (Hockensmith) Gebhart, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage until her passing on February 2, 2010.

Mr. Gebhart was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville, PA. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society, the Bonneauville Lions Club, CWV, Home Association of McSherrystown, a former Bonneauville Borough Councilman and Bonneauville Volunteer Fire Department Chief.

Raymond was the owner operator of Jake's Lunch Wagon and the former Grey Goose Inn, both of which with his wife he ran for over 20 years.  He was also a brick layer/ mason.  He worked hard to provide for his family.

Mr. Gebhart was an avid golfer and enjoyed “playing the ponies”.  He loved having a garden and caring for his fruit trees, much of which went into his homemade fruit pies. He was especially proud of his family.

Raymond is survived by his children, Laurena A. Gebhart of Bonneauville, PA, Maureen G. Kuhn of Murrells Inlet, SC, Patrick E. Gebhart of McSherrystown, PA, Bernard J. Gebhart of New Oxford, PA, Regina L. Gebhart of Fairfield, PA, Andrew J. Gebhart of Bonneauville, PA, Julie A. Eckenrode of Gardners, PA, Brigit D. Soliday of Barlow, PA, 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, one sister, Sister Mary Elizabeth Gebhart, SJS of Harrisburg, PA, and two brothers, James L. Gebhart and Thomas P.Gebhart both of Bonneauville, PA. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ellen M. Greenholt, one sister, Irene M. Pfaff, and one brother, F. Joseph Gebhart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 6, 2017 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 10 East Hanover Street, Bonneauville, PA, with Father Benny Jose as celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Cemetery. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 2 - 4 PM, and 6 -8 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Bonneauville, PA.  A funeral luncheon will follow the internment at the Deacon Rich Weaver Parish Center.

Serving as casketbearers will be Adam Raver, Michael Greenholt, Jason Gebhart, Daniel Shifflett, Jacob Soliday, Joshua Soliday, Jonathan Soliday and Zachary Heikes
