Rudolph Aaron “Rudy” Fuhrman, Sr., 74, of Gettysburg, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Gardens at Gettysburg Nursing Center.
Born August 17, 1944, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Jessie (Myers) Fuhrman. Rudy was the loving husband of the late Shirley V. (Sharer) Fuhrman who died March 8, 2010, and his second wife, the late June Fuhrman.
Rudy was a member of Christ American Baptist Church, Spring Grove, PA.
Mr. Fuhrman was a veteran of the United States Navy having served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for various trucking companies for forty years.
Rudy was a member of the Harold H. Bair Post #14 American Legion, the New Oxford Social Club and the Hanover Moose Lodge #227. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
Rudy is survived by his children, Terri Cress of Thomasville, PA, James Fuhrman and wife Mandi of Gardners, PA and Rudolph Fuhrman, Jr. and wife Angel of Hanover, PA; a step-daughter, Sherry Tester of Gettysburg, PA; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Cory, Brooke, Kaitlin, Jaxon, Isabella, Joshua, Kevin and Tonya; and ten great-grandchildren, Jaydah, Braya, Gauge, Kris Jr., Avrious, Blaze, Gwen, Alex, Anna and Lucy; a sister, Rose Mummert of East Berlin, PA, and a half-sister, Joan Bowlin and husband John of Alexandria, VA; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by one brother; two sisters, two half-brothers; and one half-sister.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Rudy’s life will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Todd Witmer officiating. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
