Samuel K. Frymyer, 76, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at UPMC Hanover Hospital.
Born August 28, 1941 in Littlestown, PA, he was the son of the late Luke and Naomi (Kemper) Frymyer.
Sam was a 1959 graduate of Littlestown High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 – 1964, and was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.
Sam was a Pennsylvania Sate Policeman from 1964 to 1984. He served as an Adams County District Magistrate in Bonneauville from 1985 to 1998. Sam was a known potato farmer and supplied various local restaurants in the Gettysburg, Littlestown, and Hanover areas from 1972-1986. Sam and Diana (Nichols) Frymyer owned and operated Frymyer’s Farm Market on Rt. 97 in Two Taverns from 1981-1988. He was also instrumental in the inception of Diana’s Limousine Service in 1987 and enjoyed chauffeuring until 2003.
Sam was a member of The Hanover Church of the Brethren, the Hanover ELKS, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Littlestown, the Hanover Moose Lodge, the Unified Sportsman’s Association, the Sinnemahoning Sportsman Association, and the Marine Corps League.
Sam enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and the Outdoors, he Loved going to his Cabin in Cameron County. He was a devoted fan of Penn State Football and was a season ticket holder since the early 1970’s.
Sam is survived by two sons, Kevin S. Frymyer and Shawn K. Frymyer both of Littlestown, PA, five grandchildren, Luke, Madison, Zachary, Aaliyah, and Tylor, and three sisters, Susan A. Frymyer Smith of Hanover, PA, and Darlene L. Hawbaker and Geraldine E. Wireman both of Littlestown, PA.
Sam was predeceased by a sister, Louise E. Menges.
A memorial service to celebrate and remember Sam’s life will be held at 1PM, Friday, July 13, 2018 at The Hanover Church of the Brethren, 601 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Geraldine Godfrey officiating. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 11AM to 1PM, Friday, July 13, 2018 at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
