Simpson M. Baublitz, 83, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Thursday, December 14, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side.

Born August 23, 1934, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Lewis E. and Ruth A.E. (Mummert) Baublitz.  Simpson was the loving husband of Barbara (Wagner) Baublitz, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Mr. Baublitz was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.

Simpson was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country proudly during the Korean War.  He was a member of Hanover Fire Company #1 and a life member of Pennville Fire Company.

Simpson was a 1954 graduate of Eichelberger High School.  He enjoyed gardening, volunteering at his church, was an avid NASCAR and Orioles fan and loved spending time with his family and friends.   

Mr. Baublitz retired from Penn Auto Body Shop after many years of service as a paint and body man.

In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, Simpson is survived by a brother, Larry L. Baublitz and wife, Diane of Hanover, PA; and two sisters, Linda R. Sager and husband, Larry, and Donna M. Bankert and husband, Barry all of Hanover, PA. 

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Simpson will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, December 18, 2017 at the St. Mark Lutheran Church, 129 Charles Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, Monday, December 18, 2017 at the church.   Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA.  The Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail will provide Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Simpson’s memory to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 129 Charles Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
