Albert C. Groth, 79, of Codorus, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg, PA.
Born November 11, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Vida Z. (Davis) Groth and the loving husband of the late Mary E. (Baker) Groth with whom he shared 58 years of marriage until her passing on April 19, 2021.
Al graduated from Dundalk Senior High School in 1959 and served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a devoted brother, father, and grandfather. He retired in 2007 from ESAB Welding & Cutting Products after more than 15 years as a marketing associate.
He was a caller and member of the Hanover Pacers Square Dancing Club and the Fair Squares Square Dancing Club, the Pennsylvania Square & Round Dance Association, a former secretary for the South-Central PA Callers and Cuers Association, and a member of the Harmony Squares of the Brethren Home, New Oxford, PA.
Al is survived by his children, David E. Groth and wife Penny, and Kathleen V. Groth; two grandchildren, Zora, and Zane; and a sister, Barbara Jean Faupel.
A memorial service to celebrate and remember Al’s and Mary’s life will be held at 12pm, with family receiving guests prior, on Friday June 4, 2021 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Arlene Dunn, Chaplain officiating. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed at www.kenworthyfh.com. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail will provide military honors.
