Alice T. Sweetman

Alice T. Sweetman, 95, of Hanover, PA, entered God's eternal care, Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at UPMC Hanover Hospital with her loving family by her side. 

Born July 18, 1927, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Myrtle C. (Dorsey) Thomas.  She was the loving wife of the late Charles U. Sweetman with whom she shared fifty-five years of marriage until his passing on January 2, 2006.

Alice was a 1945 graduate of Baltimore Catholic Girls School.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA.

Alice enjoyed spending time with her family.

Alice is survived by her children, Karen L. Slemaker of Hanover, PA, Ginny S. Franke of Baldwin, MD, Mary L. Inouye of Westminster, MD, Charles D. Sweetman of Baltimore, MD, Christine A. Clark of Baltimore, MD, Frances A. Worth of Dunkirk, MD, and Thomas U. Sweetman of Hanover, PA, thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 29, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Samuel Miller as celebrant.  Burial will be in Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.  A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00AM, Friday, July 29, 2022, at the church.   

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in memory of Alice to the American Stroke Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
