Alois B. "Al" Betmarik

Alois B. “Al” Betmarik, Sr., of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at home with his loving family by his side.

Born February 20, 1949, in Meridian, MS, he was the son of the late Alois and Frances E. (Satcher) Betmarik.  Al was the loving husband of Deborah L. (Wallech) Betmarik, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Al graduated in 1967 from Franklin Senior High School, Reisterstown, MD, and attended the University of Maryland.  He retired from Fawn Industries, with 32 years of service.  He worked part time at Walmart on Baltimore Street for 18 years where he loved meeting people and enjoyed talking to everyone.

Al loved music and going to concerts, scuba-diving, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.

In addition to his loving wife, Deborah, Al is survived by his children, Ashley Wetzel and husband Dustin of New Oxford, PA, Cori Hahn and husband Greg of Winter Park, FL, Alois B. Betmarik, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, Patrick Betmarik and wife Kimberly of York, PA, and Jefferson Betmarik of Kensington, MD; three grandchildren, Riley Lane Betmarik, Layla Ashley Betmarik, Russell Lawrence Betmarik; and two brothers, William Betmarik and Melvin R. Betmarik both of Hanover, PA.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be planned in the near future.
