Anemone Burke

Anemone Burke, 94, of York, PA and formerly of Bonneauville, PA entered God’s eternal care, Monday, February 19, 2024, at York North Nursing and Rehab, York, PA, with her loving family by her side.

Born September 2, 1929, In Frankfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Paula (Braun) Kubler.  Anemone was the loving wife of the late Kenneth S. Burke who died November 28, 1996.

Anemone enjoyed gardening and flowers.    

Anemone is survived by her sons, Brian K. Burke and his wife Anita of Hanover, PA, and Michael R. Burke and his wife Christie of Fuquay Varina, NC; two granddaughters, Michelle A. Burke and Amber L. Greene; and a sister, Roswitha Hillman of Germany.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Anemone with be held 7 PM, Thursday,  February 22, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, with the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. The family with receive friends from 6-7 PM, Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the funeral home.   A graveside service will be held 1 PM, Friday, February 23, 2024, at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, 14205 Pleasant Valley Road NE, Flintstone, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Anemone’s name to the Adams County Rescue Mission, 2515 York Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325 or the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
