Anna F. Turvin

Anna F. Turvin, 89, of New Oxford, PA, entered God's eternal care, Saturday, April 22, 2023, at home with her loving family by her side. 

Born December 30, 1933, in Horsham, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter N. and Helen E. (Toll) Ahn.   

Anna was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.   

Anna was a 1952 graduate of Elmer Wolfe High School, Union Bridge, MD.  She retired after thirty years of service as a telephone engineer clerk from Verizon, formerly known as C&P Telephone Company and then Bell Atlantic.

Anna was a past president and member of C&P Telephone Pioneers. She volunteered at Vindobona Nursing Home.

Anna loved reading, watching game shows (and playing along), and spending time with her family. She especially loved holidays and cooking for her family. Anna enjoyed her weekly visits with her granddaughter Anna and being able to babysit her great-grandchildren, Caleb and Myles, until they started kindergarten.

Anna is survived by her children, E. Steven Turvin and wife Linda of New Midway, MD, Charles A. Turvin and wife Susan of North Port, FL, Sharon A. Glass and husband Dale of New Oxford, PA, and Mark E. Turvin and wife Carol of Finksburg, MD; five grandchildren – Christopher Turvin, Jennifer Estep, Shannon Shearer, Eric Turvin and Anna Turvin; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Burrier of Keymar, MD, and Arlene Bowers of Taneytown, MD. 

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Anna will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 129 Charles Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Kirk Griffin officiating.  Entombment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00AM, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Anna’s memory to the VNA of Hanover and Spring Grove Home Health and Hospice, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
