Anna M. McMaster Obituary

Anna Margaret McMaster, 81, of Gettysburg, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital.

Born May 25, 1943, in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eldon P. and Nadine A. (Weaver) Oyler.  Anna was the loving wife of Donald J. McMaster with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.

Anna was a 1961 graduate of Gettysburg High School.  She was a receptionist at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home, Gettysburg, PA for over 37 years.  She loved her job and the people she greeted daily.

Anna was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Gettysburg, PA.  She was a member and involved in the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary for over 34 years, holding positions as former National President, Former State President and former Post President.  

Anna was an officer in the Local PEO Sisterhood Chapter BL and volunteered for many different organizations in the area.

Anna loved the beach, birds, flowers, family and friends, volunteering and life.

In addition to her husband, Donald, Anna is survived by her children, Donald J. McMaster, Jr. and wife Bertha, Tammy M. Slaybaugh and husband Randall, and Timothy D. McMaster, 5 grandchildren, Haley A. Kramer, Landon P. Kramer, Audrey McMaster, Collin O. McMaster, and Malcolm M. McMaster, two great grandchildren, Preston and Asher, three siblings, Sally Steinour, Helen Miley, and Robert Oyler and wife Bea, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Oyler and Johnny Oyler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 East Hanover St., Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, with Father Benny Jose as celebrant, followed by a Celebration of Life at the church hall.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph the Worker Church Cemetery.  Visitations and times to share memories with the family will be held from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM, Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 E. Hanover St., Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or SpiriTrust Hospice, 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
