Avis L. Beard

Avis L. Beard, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the Brethren Home.  

Born November 4, 1934, in Hershey, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley E. and Margaret M. (McFarland) Fidler.  Avis was the loving wife of Robert H. Beard with whom she shared 70 years of marriage.  

Mrs. Beard retired from the former Doubleday Company in Hanover where she worked as a mail clerk.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hanover, PA

In addition to her husband Robert, Avis is survived by her children, Wendy Eline, Joel Beard, and Eric Beard, six grandchildren, Sean Eline, James Miller, Chad Eline, Tabitha Beard, Courtney Beard Jarrett, and Daniel Beard,  ten great grandchildren, Valkyrie, Lucas, Brooklyn, Lexie, Gavin, Taylin, Aspen, Elijah, Louis, and Owen.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Fidler.

A graveside service will be held 10 AM, Monday, December 11, 2023, at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
