B. Joann Klinedinst Obituary

B. Joann (Markle) Klinedinst (Beverly), 95, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Homewood at Plum Creek following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of the late Lloyd R. Klinedinst, to whom she was happily married for nearly 46 years until his passing on April 3, 1992. Born April 29, 1928, in Hanover, she was the beloved daughter of Marion J. (Meckley) Baile and Norman A. Markle.

Joann was a life-long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, York St., in Hanover, and a 1946 graduate of Eichelberger High School, for whom she was proudly the class historian. She spoke fondly of her time working for the United Telephone Company of PA, retiring in 1985 after 18 years of service. A woman of grace and strength, she loved deeply and fully her family and friends and was passionate about the quality time she spent with them. Endearingly referred to, by her family, as the “Grand Poobah”, she enjoyed cooking, baking, and hosting her loved ones on numerous occasions throughout the year and was an enthusiastic traveler. She was also the greatest pie-maker to have ever lived.

She is survived by her children, Bruce H. Klinedinst & Beverly of Hanover, PA; Patricia A. (Klinedinst) Wolfe & Terry, of Hanover PA; and David S. Klinedinst of Hanover, PA. Surviving in addition to her children is a sister, Norma J. Alonzo, of Muscle Shoals, AL, seven grandchildren: Michael Brehm & Sonja of Millbury, MA; Rebekka (Klinedinst) Murphy & David of Elgin, OK; Amy (Brehm) Feeser & Daniel of New Oxford, PA; Katie (Klinedinst) Beck & Steven of Hanover, PA; Andrea Wolfe of Hanover PA; Megan Wolfe (Hoffmann) & Chris of Hanover, PA; and Jesse Klinedinst of Hanover, PA, as well as 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara (Baile) Eisenberger of Inverness, FL, a son, Russell Klinedinst of Hanover, PA, two brothers-in-law: John Alonzo of Muscle Shoals, AL and William Eisenberger of Boyton Beach, FL, a daughter-in-law, Bethany (Goodermuth) Klinedinst of Hanover, PA, and a great-grandson, Amos Daniel Feeser, as well as many other family and friends she held near and dear to her heart.
