Barbara Harget Obituary

Barbara A. Harget, 86 of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday July 21, 2025, at her home.

Born August 16, 1938, in Hanover, PA, she was daughter of the late Raymond P.  and Lillie V. (Laughman) Cornbower.  Barbara was the loving wife of the late Kenneth L. Harget, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage until his passing on May 21, 1999.

Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Eichelberger High School.  She gave back to her community by volunteering with the PAL Lunch Program, the Hanover Area Council of Churches Clothing Bank, and was a former Judge of Elections in West Manheim Township.

Barbara was a faithful member of Black Rock Church of the Brethren, Glenville, PA. She enjoyed gardening, reading, antiquing, and traveling as long as she did not have to get on a plane.

Barbara is survived by her son Kenneth L. “Lee” Harget, II and wife Kimberly A. of Latrobe; 2 grandchildren, Autumn M. Harget of New Oxford and Claire Feeman of Annville; one brother, Gary L. Cornbower of Hanover; and one sister, Nancy J. Becker of Hanover.  She was preceded in death by one infant son, Baby Boy Harget, and one brother, James M. Cornbower.

A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held 11 AM, Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Road, Glenville, with her pastor, the Rev. Brandon Grady officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 AM, Friday, July 25, 2025, at the church.
