Barbara Ann Kynerd, 88, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Friday, December 8, 2023, at Columbia Cottage.
Born July 18, 1935, in Birmingham, AL, she was the daughter of the late John Asa & Ina Blanche (Smith) Turrentine. She was the loving wife of George Calvin Kynerd, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage until his death on November 1, 2018.
Barbara attended and graduated from Tarrant High School in Tarrant, AL where she played in the marching band. In Huntsville, Alabama she was an active member of Hillwood Baptist Church, where she is a lifelong member. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed RV’ing and camping with her late husband and spending time with her loving family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Karen (Brian) Strickhouser of Hanover, PA; 3 grandchildren, Randi (David) Osborn of AL, John (Emily) Watz of Hanover, PA, and Casey Kynerd of AL, and 3 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, John Wayne (Jane) Turrentine of Montrose, AL. Barbara was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan Kynerd, her son, Scott Kynerd , and her sister, Linda T. Young
Following cremation, services will be private at the convenience of the family.
