Barbara Ann Perrone

Barbara Ann Perrone, 75, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at WellSpan York Hospital.

Born September 28, 1947, in Hanover, PA, she was daughter to the late Paul K. Sr. and June M. (Sebright) McIlwee. She was loving wife to Steven L. Gass with whom she shared 12 years of marriage until his death June 4, 2020.

Barbara graduated class of 1965 from Bermudian Springs High School.

Barb was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.

Barb worked as an administrator of human resources.

Barb was an active member of the Hanover Elks Lodge, so much so that she was given the title of Esteemed Loyal Knight. She was also a member of the Republican Club, the Hanover AMVETS, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1406.

In her free time, Barb enjoyed shopping, gardening, and spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved planning and hosting large, memorable gatherings, such as pool parties.

Barbara is survived by stepdaughters; Cigi Bowers & husband Nick of Hanover, Crysti Cromer & husband Shaun of Hanover, and Joey Campbell & husband Seth of Ephrata, PA. Barb is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Camryn & Brady Bowers, Taylor & Ty Cromer, and Mason & Miles Campbell, siblings; Paul K. McIlwee, Jr., & wife Stephanie, of Hanover, Rosellen L. Fairall & husband Duane Sweep of Burnsville, MN, as well as numerous nieces & nephews, aunts & uncles, and cousins. Barb was preceded in death by her sister, Paulette K. Dubbs.

Following cremation, a joint Celebration of Life to remember Barbara and Steven’s lives, will be held from 1-4 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Hanover Elks Lodge, 47 N. Forney Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to the Hanover Elks Lodge, 47 N. Forney Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
